The vision for Rustic Roots Creative is simple. We help nonprofits tell their story to enable them to effectively communicate and achieve their mission. We believe in the power of nonprofits. We also believe in the power of storytelling. Stories are captivating and engaging. They can inspire people to dream bigger and motivate them to be part of something bigger than themselves. That's why we believe the work done for nonprofits should be the best work that we do, not an afterthought.
At Rustic Roots Creative, we come alongside your organization and treat your passion as our own.
Owner & Creative Director
Matthew has over 10 years of experience in creating video content for businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations. He is a natural software learner and self-proclaimed geek.
While he loves the world of technology and gadgets, he prefers the simpler side of life and enjoys being in the mountains, spending time at home, or exploring the hills of Blount County.
Curtis comes from a background in firefighting and military service but decided in early 2019 he was ready to make a career change. Always interested in personal stories, Curtis felt that videography allows him the necessary balance of creativity, hustle, storytelling and adventure.
Curtis is a prior resident of the state of Alaska who recently relocated to East Tennessee. He enjoys hiking, biking, volunteer work, videography and anything Star Wars.
If he isn’t in the outdoors, you can for sure find him in a coffee shop sipping his typical Americano or listening to a podcast on Politics, Philosophy or Faith.
People We Work With
Kendall Hayden is an aspiring minimalist, and loves discovering more about how to have less. She loves a good espresso, and enjoys spending time at the movies with friends.
Kendall loves editing and perfecting a story in post-production. She has a love for crafting stories through video, especially when it’s centered around improving the community.
Graphic & Web Designer
A Knoxville native with a rich background in visual arts, her combined experience in traditional media (oil, graphite, watercolor) as well as a BFA in 2-D Design from the University of Tennessee, Kate brings a well-rounded perspective to her design clients. She takes her call to design seriously, seeing the value of a well-branded company and the weight of a story brought to life.
When she’s not designing, you can find her exploring the new and old of her favorite city (Knoxville), in the painting studio or on her back porch with a grapefruit radler.
